Most Worthless Gadget EVER.

O.K., O.K......usually I post about wicked cool gadgets that I wish I could afford, but there is a gadget out there that just annoys me.

It's the iRobot Roomba

(1 good point: It WILL entertain your dog for hours)
It was designed for people too lazy to run a vacume once in a while. For those who haven't seen the equally annoying comercial, it's a robot/vacume that you program to run at a certain time of day. The latest model runs about $330.00 and isn't worth a dime.

It runs over elecrical cords, and gets stuck trying to kill them aparently...and it also gets stuck if you have an area rug (get's stuck trying to climb it, even though it's less then 1/4 inch thick).

I'll give it one good point....it picks up really well and if it doesn't get stuck, it does get every square inch of each room it cleans.

Teenie-Weenie Camera with HUGE @ss Features

This camera is awesome! Especially if you wanna take it with you everywhere and not have it take up much space at all, while still giving you the features of a much larger camera.

There's nothing I like more then a gadget that's tiny and hot looking to boot.

I'm talking about the Casio Exilim Card EX-S500

This slim 5 Megapixel camera comes in black, silver, and my fav. orange RED. It's the size size of a credit card and is less then an inch thick. It supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1920 pixels, it includes 8.3MB of internal storage and supports SD memory cards for even more. It can even capture MPEG-4 video with sound at 640 x 480 pixels. It's got a 3x optical zoom and a 2.2 inch monitor. It's a bit expensive at about $400.00, but isn't everything I wish I owned expensive?...LOL

Why do I love weapons? Is it that I'm...sadistic?...evil?.....or that I love to laugh at the misfortune of others?....aaaaaah, who am I kidding, we ALL love to laugh at the misfortune of others.....the only difference is...I'm willing to admit it.

Actually I picked today's "gadget" because I live in a really bad area. There are some scary gang bangers who well.......scare me....LOL. I've watched people get jumped into gangs, people get beat down, and my girl almost got car jacked in my parking lot.

Sooooooo....here it is...

Scorpion Stun Gun/Pepper Spray

For just under a hundred bucks it's not too expensive for a weapon that could save your life...and with 200,000 Volts (effective even through thick layered clothes even leather) you'll feel safe...it will put your attacker down for nearly 30 MINUTES! It's got a pepperspray built in with a range of 6 feet, and will burn for about 10 minutes also....It's small and has a safety switch....and a cool name to boot.

OK, I'm still stuck on the THIRTY MINUTES!!!! You know...this gives you the time to totally mug him right back...orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr mess with him....leave him tied to a telephone pole, with a note taped to his forhead that reads, "I'm Kat's Bitch"....or "kick me"...ROFLMFAO!

I'm talking about The Panasonic Toughbook-Y2

This puppy has a magnesium-alloy case that' s remarkably light. When you first pick it up (12.2 x 9.6-inch case), you'll think someone forgotten to install the computer. Even the AC adapter is small and light. The lid on this silver notebook has a raised center panel, which reinforces the protection of the LCD.

It's got a flip-top DVD\CD-RW combo drive and the lid pops up beside the touchpad rather than from the side or front. Also unusual in a notebook this light is the large, bright LCD. I love that it's got ten distinct levels of brightness, which the user can adjust with hot keys, although the 1400 x 1050 native resolution is a bit too dense. Fortunately, users can pull back the resolution to 1024 x 768.

It's got a 1.3-GHz Pentium M CPU. Despite the skimpy 256MB of system RAM, windows loaded and repositioned themselves quickly. The 40GB hard drive is slow, at 4,200 rpms, but is shock-protected for added durability.

Travelers, by train or plain, or those who like to sit on the beach and stay connected will love the Y2's superb battery life, which topped 6 hours. For those who carry a spare battery, the pack itself is beneath the screen hinge and is very easy to swap out. Only problem is that it' s easy to accidentally unlock one side of the battery. The Y2 makes an excellent all-around traveler, however. It is wide and well balanced enough to sit very securely on the lap as you pound the keyboard. And, unlike a number of ultraportables, the Y2 stays remarkably cool, even after several hours.

The Y2's keyboard layout is spacious, but the Enter key is only half-sized, and I also don't apreciate having the Delete key buried between directional and other function keys to the right of the space bar. The circular touchpad is unique, butyou need to get used to it.

The stereo speakers have poor sound quality and are very tiny. DVD playback was acceptable using the integrated graphics. A VGA connector is included for plugging into an external monitor or presentation device, and Panasonic did make room for a Secure Digital memory card slot too.

While I wish it were less expensive (I wish everything was less expensive), the Toughbook Y2 succeeds in cramming a lot of computer into a very portable and durable design. And, with 6 hours of endurance, you'll be able to last just as long on a charge as that poor guy who has to lug an 8-pounder around. Price: $2,279.95 - $2,299.95

Based on Faraday's Magnetic Field Induction Experiment
When Michael Faraday made his discovery of electromagnetic induction in 1831, he hypothesized that a changing magnetic field is necessary to induce a current in a nearby circuit. To test his hypothesis he made a coil by wrapping a paper cylinder with wire. He connected the coil to a galvanometer, and then moved a magnet back and forth inside the cylinder. When the magnet goes back and forth, the galvanometer needle moves, indicating that a current is induced in the coil. The needle immediately returns to zero when the magnet is not moving. Faraday confirmed that a moving magnetic field is necessary in order for electromagnetic induction to occur.
